Excellent and interesting visit. A great asset to Cumbria's Tourism - Well done Alan Toole Chairman of Cumbria County Council
On behalf of the staff & students from the Engineering Department of Lakes College West Cumbria, I would like to thank you for two very enjoyable trips around Honister Slate Mine.
Good on you, your vision, drive and determination has not been in vain. You've got a really good quality educational visitor attraction and long may it continue it's success. We've really enjoyed our tour it was incredibly informative. Keep up the good work. The Bowles
I visited Honister Slate Mine with my husband and we had a fantastic time. There are many things to do and many places to visit at the Lake District, but this is a must do attraction. This mine is an interesting, educational, and breath taking experience that will never be forgotten. I personnally have to say that this tour is very good value for money and should not be missed

Just a short note to thank you & your colleagues, not forgetting Shelly & her staff at the Yew Tree, for hosting the visit from the American journalists the other day. In particular to thank Mark for smoothing our passage along Borrowdale. Also to Celia for her wonderful guided tour underground, Kimberley level seemed another world away just a few hours later in a damp, noisy Manchester. For many the visit to Cumbria was their last event before returning to "The States" so I am sure they will be returning with some vivid memories of the County and it's people. Once again many thanks it was a pity that we did not have more time with you on the day. I. Jones - Blue Badge Guide
Our trip to the slate mine was one of the best trips all week. The talk was very interesting and I learned alot about mining in the old days. It's freezing down the mine but it was worth it because you get to wear one of those funny hats. Thanks for putting up with us West Flegg Middle School Really enjoyed tour of the mine last week. Very interesting and great fun walking into the depts of the mine. The terrible weather made it really atmospheric, although the ride up the mine was pretty scary for the people sat on the cliff side of the bus! Tour guide (Mark's Mum!) was also brilliant - will recommend to all! The Clark Family

I have been coming to the lakes now for about 25 years and probably covered all the fells in this time. I've seen all the tourist attractions and have to say that the mine tour was by far the best thing I've been on since I started visiting the lakes. The jeep ride up to the mine was great, the mines themselves were spectacular and it was very interesting listening to the guide (Marks Mum - Celia) and free coffee when we returned to the centre, who could ask for more, well worth the cost of the tour. Well done to Mark and his staff, I will definatley recommend to others. Thanks from Mr J H, Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Myself and my wife have recently come back from a holiday to The Lake District. The highlight of it, by far, was a visit to Honister Slate Mine. We came across the details be accident in a leaflet and we were glad we did. It was fantastic! The staff were very friendly and the guide made the tour come alive. I've never been anywhere so dark in my life! When he switched off all the lights it was amazing. I will certainly be recommending the Mine Tour to everyone I know, as it really is the best attraction in the area. Keep up the good work!
